Here’s a fun (and very delicious) little activity to do with animal crackers! We love taking our animal crackers on a parade around the table during snack time. The other day we started talking about all the different things our animal crackers could walk through, like melted chocolate and sprinkles (because these things can sometimes be found on our kitchen table- same at your house right?)!
So we made it happen, and here’s how it went…
We started with our ingredients- animal crackers, semisweet chocolate chips (about 3/4 cup) and some left over fish shaped sprinkles we had from a blue funfetti icing jar. I had used the icing to make cookie monster cupcakes, check out that disaster here!
Next we melted the chocolate chips by microwaving in 15 second increments and stirring until they were thoroughly melted. We also had fun melting chocolate when we made our Epic Rice Krispies!
Finally, we paraded our little cracker friends right through the chocolate and sprinkles!
I put them on some parchment paper and let them cool in the refrigerator for about an hour.
Once they were well cooled, they had another parade- right into our mouths!
I am of the opinion that chocolate and sprinkles make everything better, fancier and more fun! Do you have a different way to fancy up animal crackers?
Thanks for stopping in and have a beautiful day!
I’m going to do this when my grandson visits next time!

As years have passed, these beloved cookies aren’t seen as frequently on college pantry shelves. Alright, let’s be honest, none of us are really grown ups yet. All the more reason to make some sweet treats out of one of the most loved childhood cookies. Add animal cookie bits to the batter and frosting of your cupcakes. The simplest of additions is always the sweetest. Get the recipe here .
